Weather Now: Quiet Night Ahead; Showers to Finish Weekend

Happy Saturday! We started off our day chilly and breezy with lots of sunshine and all that sunshine stuck around throughout this afternoon. Overall our Saturday night looks dry and clear! Lows will still be on the cooler side, below normal for this time of year, bottoming out in the low 50s. Sunday morning we’ll start the day cool and quiet with a mix of sun and clouds but the sunshine wont be sticking around for too long. During the afternoon we’ll begin to see more clouds develop and roll in overhead. Following those clouds, we’ll see some showers start to develop late in the evening. TRACKING THE TROPICS As Fiona continues to weaken and push north, we are now turning our attention to Tropical Storm Ian. As of Saturday evening, Ian is churning just south of Jamaica, during the second half of this weekend Ian will continue to strengthen and march west, reaching Hurricane strength by early Monday morning. Early this week Ian will take a turn to the north, new model guidance has Ian taking a more western track. This means that instead of passing directly over western Cuba it might stay out over the water passing through the Yucatan Channel. Staying out over water could help to further strengthen Ian and could cause a more western landfall, more towards Tampa or the Panhandle. WPRI 12 is looking for viewer opinions

WPRI 12 and its affiliated stations and websites are currently seeking Southern New Englanders to join an ongoing viewer feedback panel.

WPRI 12 has partnered with RAM (Research and Analysis of Media) in hopes of learning from viewers through brief online surveys in order to improve its content, offerings and advertising.

Whether you watch TV every day or just on occasion, the surveyors want to hear from as many people as possible.

Each time respondents answer a survey, they'll earn points that can be redeemed for Amazon gift cards. For example, earn 1,000 points to receive a $5 Amazon card, earn 1,500 points to receive a $10 Amazon card, and so on.
